I have been using stevia for over 30 years. In 1984 I was 12-years-old when my dad, Oscar Rodes, gave me my first cup of green stevia tea. Amazed that a dried herb could taste just like sweet licorice, I started using the green leaves to sweeten other teas and beverages.
Fast forward a few years ... Dad brought home a refined stevia powder from Brazil - without the licorice taste. I put my love of baking to work and soon had enough recipes to fill a cookbook. So, in 1998, I enlisted my husband's help and, together, we wrote our first stevia cookbook, Sugar-Free Cooking With Stevia.
